The Welcome Mat stresses a family atmosphere. All ages and levels of experience are on the mat at the same time. As experience is gained, players add to the length and intensity of their workouts. Session payment includes any and all classes that a student is qualified for.

Students must be at least 13 years old.
No Classes are held on school holidays.
Judo is played barefoot. The only equipment necessary is the Judo uniform or judogi. It consists of a heavy jacket, loose fitting pants, and a belt. Women and girls add a white t-shirt. The judogi plays an important part in many of the techniques that are practiced, and is essential to good play.
New and used uniforms are available through the Welcome Mat.
Hygiene is important. Judogis should be washed before each practice, and fingernails should be kept short.
